IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Wright
Foster
August 5, 1949 – January 29, 2024
Linda Yvonne Wright was born on August 5, 1949 to Joseph W. "Joe" Wright and Bennie Lee Parks Wright. Linda passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 29, 2024. She grew up in a loving household of six girls. She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, and former husband, Rev. Douglas Williamson.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a very talented seamstress who enjoyed making her own clothes in her early life, as well as for her young daughter, Cindy. She made several wedding gowns and prom dresses for those close to her. She also enjoyed crocheting and made many gifts for family and friends.
Linda was a young 74 year old, who was passionate about health and fitness. She had abundant energy and could work circles around many people much younger than herself. She had a flair for interior design, kept an immaculate home, and enjoyed outside gardening and her flowers. She loved family gatherings, fellowship, and finding beauty in the world around her.
Linda had renewed many old friendships from her high school years at West Fannin High School and enjoyed attending monthly luncheons with former classmates. She also had wonderful neighbors who were very special to her.
Her grandsons were the light of her life and she looked forward to spending time with them. She loved her nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews, and formed special bonds with them. Her birthday cards were always the first to arrive and she was always ready to help when there was a need. Linda was a caregiver to family members as necessity required.
Linda worked for many years in the Fannin County, GA school system as well as North Georgia Regional Education Service Agency (RESA) in Ellijay from which she retired. She had been a resident of Pickens County for more than 20 years. Although not a regular attendee, Colwell Baptist Church, her childhood church was dear to her and she enjoyed coming back for special services and homecomings. She had attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper and formed many close friendships. Most of all she loved her Lord and was a prayer warrior for family and friends.
Linda is survived by her children, Cynthia and Barry; son-in-law, Dan; two grandsons; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Thomas Graham, Jane and Morris Callihan, Martha and John Chastain, Brenda and James Adams, and Patricia and Ronald Hensley, many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends also survive.
