Obituary

Linda Dianne Wildman McCleery Gerlock left this earth on October 30, 2025. She was born on November 17, 1947, to Virginia Hall and George Wildman.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert McCleery, and her late husband, Paul Gerlock.

Linda leaves behind her four beloved children and their spouses: Kim and David Rollen, Tracy and Darrell Glover, David and Jennifer Gerlock, and Lee and Jamie Gray. Her eight grandchildren - Lauren, Peyton, Alex, Garrett, Paul, Sydney, Grayson, and William - will miss her dearly. She was also blessed to hold her first great-grandchild, Emery, just last week - a precious moment her family will always treasure.

A devoted wife and mother, Linda later pursued her passion for caring for others by attending nursing school and becoming a Registered Nurse. She especially loved her work in the NICU, caring for newborns and their families. She went on to teach nursing students at Middle Georgia Technical School, inspiring the next generation of caregivers.

Linda was deeply rooted in her faith, actively involved in the Episcopal and Anglican church, and a longtime member of the Cursillo movement community. She found joy in gardening, sewing, and crocheting-especially when making something for her grandchildren. One of her favorite creative outlets was pottery, through which she crafted many beautiful works of art.

She will be remembered for her strength and resilience as a military wife and young mother of two, for enduring the loss of her first husband, and for bravely facing both breast cancer and later pancreatic cancer. In her later years, she discovered a love for travel and was grateful to visit many places from her bucket list.

Linda cherished her church community, her dear "widow friends" group in Mineral Bluff, and her beloved pets, Georgie and Leo.

In keeping with Linda's wishes, a private family ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinscobb.com

Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, GA was in charge of these arrangements.
