Lillie Marie Cox, age 90, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on at her home on September 17, 2026. Born in Cleveland, TN, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Vida Walker Fowler. Lillie had worked and retired from Levi Strauss after 25 years of service. She was member of the Rock Creek Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Lillie enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking for her family. She also enjoyed her flower gardens and her time spent traveling out west with her loving husband and family. Lillie is preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings, Elizabeth Shelton and Nellie Ensley.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Stewart Cox, Jr.; son, Allen Cox; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and J.K. Davenport; grandchildren, Adrianna Casey (Mike) and Allyson Cook (Conner); great-grandchildren, Wrenley Kay Casey and Coleson Michael Casey; siblings and their spouses, Marvin and Louise Fowler, Ray and Barbara Fowler, Gracie Disney, Carolyn and Donnie Scoggins, and Pamela and Wayne Coffey; sisters-in-law, Vida Cox, Lynn Cox and Dorothy Jane and Bradley Davis; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Billy Ray Queen officiating. Music will be provided by Rodney Panter, Page Reynolds, John Morrow, Jeff Davenport, and Nancy Watkins. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Lee Cox, Joey Cox, J.K. Davenport, Mike Casey, Conner Cook and Donnie Scoggins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 5-8 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Pruitt Hospice.
