Lillie Mae Cook, age 90, of McCaysville, GA passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at her home. She was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Charles Edward Suits and Van Dora Green Suits. She was a member of Bethany Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett T. Cook, sons, Robert and Larry Cook; daughter Linda Phillips; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny E. and Patricia Cook of Fernandina Beach, FL, Jimmy and Sara Cook of Sebring, FL, William H. and Nancy Cook of Jacksonville, Emmett T. Cook, Jr. and Janell of Farner, TN, Dennis A. and Annette Cook of Blue Ridge, GA and Dempsey C. and Tamela Cook of Turtletown, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Doris Dean of Blue Ridge, GA, Gail and Kenneth Sitton of Chatsworth, GA and Jewell and Jim Deal of Blue Ridge; 39 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Renny Whittenbarger and Rev. Jim Dickey officiating. Music was by Joseph Cook and Dennis Cook, Jr. Pallbearers were the following grandsons, Tony Dean, Michael Cook, Dennis Cook, Jr., Jason P. Cook, Timmy Cook, Windell Phillips, Wayne Cook, and Timmy Black. Interment followed in Copper Ridge Memory Garden. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
