Mr. Lewis Goldman White, Sr. age 70 of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Mr. White was born in Cherokee County, NC on May 20, 1941 to the late Homer and Annie Dills White. He had worked most of his life as a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. White enjoyed fishing and farming. He was also preceded in death by his wife of forty three years, Carol Manis White; brothers, Jack and Ernest "Joe" White; sister, Alice Weaver; and one grandchild Taylor White. Survivors include his children and their spouses: Lewis White, Jr. of Murphy, NC, Sandy and Mark Gregory of Turtletown, TN, Stephen and Sandy White of Epworth, GA and Billy White of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, Misty Crisp and Tyler White also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday June 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music will be provided by T.J. Crowder. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Copperhill, TN.
