Leroy Danny Deal, age 71, of Copperhill passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. Leroy was born on December 22, 1952 in Copperhill to the late Rev. Lloyd Deal and Rhoda Locke Deal. He worked for over twenty years at Mercier's Orchard while also assisting with the restoration of the land in the Copper Basin Area. Later, he would retire from Honeywell as a press operator. Leroy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Tumbling Creek where he steadily served and stood with the church. His primary concern was being able to attend the services at the church where he loved to sing. In his free time, Leroy enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Deal; grandchildren, Jonas Eli Deal and Jonathan Titus Deal; siblings, Roger Lee Deal, Conrad Deal, Martha Ann Deal, Cecil Deal, and William George Deal; brother-in-law, C.M. "Bug" Talley; and sister-in-law, Deborah Deal.

Leroy is survived by his son, Matthew Lee Deal of Copperhill; grandson, Levi Deal; siblings, Mary Louise Talley, Kathleen (Rev. Jimmy) Payne, Randy (Sharon) Deal, Marilyn (Rev. Gerald) Payne, Carlton (Rita) Deal, Richard (Stacey) Deal, and Alex (Angie) Deal; sisters-in-law, Dora Jean Deal Cantrell and Glenda Deal; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on July 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Tumbling Creek with Rev. Doyle Davis and Rev. Jeff Graves officiating. Music was provided by Macy Greene, Gracey Greene, Hollyanna Greene, and the O'Neal Family. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. David O'Neal officiating. Music at the graveside was provided by Anna Gilbert. Pallbearers were Levi Deal, Jesse Deal, Adam Deal, Cory Deal, Aaron Talley, and Trevis Deal. Honorary pallbearer was Little Lloyd Payne. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 3 after 4:00 PM.
