Mrs. Grace Leona Golden, age 87, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Tuesday, June 08, 2010 in the Heritage Healthcare Center in Blue Ridge. Mrs. Golden was born in Greenville, SC on March 9, 1923 to the late James Henry Beaver and Marian Ruth Panter. Mrs. Golden was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Golden; sons Billy and Bruce Golden; and a grandson Jamy Golden. She worked for Fannin County School System as a teacher's aide and retired after 18 years of service. She was a member of Hemptown Baptist Church and an emeritus member and past matron of Morganton Chapter #394 O.E.S. She is survived by a sons and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Sheila Golden of Ellijay and Ray and Gina Golden of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Roy Conner of Blue Ridge; brother, Frank Beaver of McCaysville; sisters, Mary Emma Wise of McDonough, GA and Ina Mull of Morganton; four grandchildren, Maggie Golden, Andrew Golden, Josh (Erin) Golden, and Alyson (Brian) Ethington; and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. David Whitener and Rev. Bryon Ethington officiating. Music was by Marilyn Thomas and Rev. Bryon Ethington. Pallbearers were Josh Golden, Andrew Golden, Tom Wheeler, Jerry M. Beaver, Jr., Roy Conner, and Bryon Ethington. All Eastern Star members served as honorary pallbearers. Interment followed in Hemptown Cemetery.
