Lena McKinnon, age 90, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 in Ellijay. She was born on February 14, 1926 to the late Nicholas Lapola and Mary Meara Lapola in Philadelphia, PA. She is a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, John E. McKinnon. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Pierce and wife Victoria of Blue Ridge and Joseph Frank Pierce, Jr. and wife Cindy of Ducktown; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Father John Conway officiating.
