Mr. Lee Roy Satterfield, age 81, of Turtletown, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Born on January 19, 1944, in Ducktown, Tennessee, he was the son of Fred Ernest Satterfield and Ruby Evelyn Nicholson Satterfield. Lee Roy worked for many years as a boilermaker with the Tennessee Chemical Company until its closure, and later continued his trade with Boilermakers Local 454 in Chattanooga.
He attended Bethel Church, where he found joy in worship and fellowship. He had a deep love for the outdoors, especially trout fishing in the mountains he proudly called home. Known for his warm heart and welcoming spirit, Lee Roy never met a stranger. He loved everyone he met, but above all, he cherished his family, who meant the world to him.
Mr. Satterfield is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, James Satterfield and Herman Satterfield.
He is survived by his beloved wife that he married on February 27, 1966, Joan Satterfield; children, Dr. Eric Satterfield, Todd Satterfield (Paula), and Cheryl O'Neal (Eric); grandchildren, Emma Satterfield, Riley Satterfield, Joshua Satterfield, Brandon Satterfield, Dr. Dylan O'Neal, Reid O'Neal, and Sawyer O'Neal; great-grandchild, Charlie O'Neal; siblings, Kenneth Satterfield and Faye Bruce; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jerry and Judy Walling; many other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. from the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Selected to serve as pallbearers were: Joshua Satterfield, Brandon Satterfield, Dr. Dylan O'Neal, Reid O'Neal, Sawyer O'Neal, and Eric O'Neal. All boilermakers served as honorary pallbearers. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, October 18, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
