Mr. Lee Roy Hawkins, age 76, of Blue Ridge, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was born on November 11, 1946 to the late Atley Hawkins and Amanda Elizabeth Bell Hawkins. Lee Roy retired from the Fannin County Road Department, where he worked for many years. He also served as Fannin County Post Commissioner. Lee Roy was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charles Hawkins, Cliff Hawkins, Jean H. Helton, and Ethlene H. Helton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth "Patsy" Hawkins; step-daughters, Vicki (Johnny) Adams of Canton, Georgia, Jackie Millsaps and Larry Queen of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Donna (Barry) Evans of Woodstock, Georgia, and Lorri (Jeff) Burks of Blairsville, Georgia; brothers, Bob (Donna) Hawkins of Mineral Bluff, Georgia and Ben (Ruth) Hawkins of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; sister, Kathy McClure of Mineral Bluff, Georgia; eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Music was provided by Harold Dillard and Sherry Hicks. Interment followed at the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Nathan Adams, Eric Adams, Larry Queen, Jeff Helton, David Hawkins, and Mike Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Holloway, Etheridge Ware, Phillip Barker, Tim Hawkins, Jim Ware, Lonnie Cole, Charlie Helton, Johnny Millsaps, Tommy Bell, Butch Anderson, George Ensley, Eddie Helton, Adam Walker, and Ed Hawkins. Graveside services were officiated by Rev. Denny Hawkins.
