Larry L. Smart, 70, of Cherry Log, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Mr. Smart was born on January 8, 1943 in Beloit, Wisconsin and was the son of Jack Smart and the late Meta Fields Smart. Larry earned a BA Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and spent many years in various senior management positions with Atlanta-based Management Systems America and Ross Systems. After "retirement", he and his wife Ricki moved to the mountains and bought Love Dogs (and Cats, Too!) in Blue Ridge seven years ago which was a true joy for both of them. Larry enjoyed fly fishing and snow skiing and loved to explore the beautiful mountains with his dog "Charlie" sitting beside him.He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia (Ricki) Hillman Smart of Cherry Log, his two children, daughter Kimberly Frier (Daniel) of Charlotte, NC, son Greg Smart (Carolyn) of Alpharetta, GA, step-son Jon Richmond of Jasper, GA, father, Jack Smart of Beloit, WI, brother, Gary Smart of Beloit, WI, two grandchildren, Ryan Boas of Roswell, GA and Eric Smart of Alpharetta, GA, a niece, two nephews and their families.Memorial services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Larry's name may be made to The Humane Society of Blue Ridge, P.O.
