Mr. Larry Junior Mathis, age 60, of Dalton, died Tuesday, October 30, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga. He was a member of Dalton Lodge #105 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He had worked as shipping manager in the Carpet industry for 35 years. He was a native of Fannin County, and was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hunnicutt Mathis and mother Magdalene Millsaps Mathis. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church.He is survived by his father, Jack Mathis of Epworth, Ga., Three Sons, Donald Burchfield of Dalton, Scott Burchfield of Cartersville, Ga. Christopher Burchfield of Richmond, Ind., One Sister, Diane Mathis of McCaysville, Ga., One Brother, Steve Mathis of Columbia, S.C., two nieces Rhonda Kunkel of Beaver Creek, Ohio and Jody Mathis of Huntsville, Ala, a grandson, Trenton Burchfield of Dalton and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at Lebanon Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2007 with Rev. Claude Mathis and Rev. Dallas Parker officiating. Interment followed in the Lebanon Church Cemetery with Masonic rites by the Dalton Lodge. Pallbearers were Donald and Trenton Burchfield, William and Jeff Zirkrowski, Junior Mathis and Winfred Morris. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
