The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Larry Lee Cook, age 64, of Jacksonville, FL who passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 in the St. Vincent Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Miami, FL, he was preceded in death by his father Emmett Cook. He was retired maintenance supervisor of Celotex Manufacturing. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church and was a United States Marines veteran. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Daphne Cook of Jacksonville, FL; son, Carl Dean Cook of Cadiz, KY; mother, Lillie Mae Suit; brothers, Dempsey Cook of Turtetown, TN, Dennis Cook of Blue Ridge, Johnny Cook of Fernandina Beach, FL, Bill Cook of Jacksonville, FL, Jimmy Cook and Emmett Cook, Jr. both of Farner, TN; sisters, Doris Dean of Blue Ridge, Gail Sitton of Chatsworth, GA, and Jewell Deal of Blue Ridge; two grandchildren, Sabrina Marie Cook and Madison Lee Ann Cook. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Collis officiating. Music will be by Joey Cook. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Little River Cemetery in Cadiz, Kentucky.
