Larry Burrell, age 75, of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, June 5, 2009. Larry was a native of the Copper Basin and was retired as a truck driver with Service Steel and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local # 247 in Detroit,MI. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S.Army. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Burrell of the home; three sons, John Burrell of Coal City, Ill, Randy Burrell of Warren, MI, Chris Burrell of Murphy, NC; daughter, Jeanette Longairc of Jasper, GA; father, Wayne Burrell of Murphy, NC; mother, Edna Burrell of Murphy, NC; brothers, Johnnie and wife Katherine Burrell and David and wife, Gail Burrell, both of Murphy, NC, Jackie Burrell of Hayesville, NC; sisters, Virginia and husband, Junior Frady of Murphy, NC, Dorothy Burrell and Sue Burrell, both of Murphy, NC; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 7th at 2:00 P.M. from the Temple Baptist church with Rev. Don Padgett and Rev. Harvey Ware officiating.
