Landon Emory Dillard, age 88 of Murphy, NC, passed away December 10, 2024 in Ducktown, TN. He was born in Copperhill, TN to the late Emory Samuel and Nellie Jane Ross Dillard. Landon was a long time member of Simond's Chapel Baptist Church. He was an avid Golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Landon worked as a Truck Driver and also as a mechanic and service manager for Ryder Rental Trucking and later U.S. Express. He is also preceded in death by his brother and their spouses, Homer and Carol Dillard, Albert and Hassie Dillard and Bill Dillard; and sisters and their spouses, Dorothy Mae and Ray Hart and Juanita and Woody Barker.

Landon is survived by the mother of his children, Marcella Beaver Dillard of Murphy, NC; his children, Jane Dillard Turlington of Hayesville, NC, Johnny (Geneva) Dillard of Lexington, SC, Ronnie (Rhonda) Dillard of Copperhill, TN, Connie (Shawn) Chancey of Mineral Bluff, GA and Scotty Dillard of Murphy, NC; grandchildren, Timothy James Shields, Tori Shields Elrod, Morgan Dillard, Ryan (Stacie) Dillard, Amber (Bryce) Lyles, Emma Dillard, Alesha (Jared) Orton, Ashley (Jake) Rhodes, Kayleb (Maci) Chancey, Kayla (Peyton) Satterfield, Evan (Abby) Dillard, Easton Dillard, and Emily Dillard;15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and sisters, Anne Ryley, and Bobbie Nell Clevenger.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Interment followed in the Simond's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were T.J. Shields, Ryan Dillard, Kayleb Chancey, Preston Hyde, Bryce Lyles, Tyler Jory, Evan Dillard, and Brock Hyde. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Chancey, Easton Dillard, Bronson Orton, Aden Anderson, Alex Shields, Jared Orton, Jake Rhodes, Peyton Satterfield, and Maclaylin Hamby.
