Mr. Lamar Emory Lunsford, age 68, of Mineral Bluff, GA, a former lifelong resident of Atlanta, GA passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Atlanta, GA on September 10, 1942 to the late Lamar Emory Lunsford and Edna Hembree Lunsford. Mr. Lunsford was the owner/operator of Donald Ray's Brother's Place in Copperhill, TN. He was a member of the Native American faith. Mr. Lunsford was a member of McCay Masonic Lodge #423 F&AM, and a member of the Yaarab Shrine in Atlanta, GA. He was also an active member of Alcohol Anonymous in Fannin and Gilmer Counties and has been sober for the last 5 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tracy Harris Lunsford and a sister, Judy Lynn Lunsford. He is survived by a son, Lance Lunsford of Cochran, GA; daughters, Alanna Flanagan and her husband Christopher of Mineral Bluff, GA, and Lisa Lunsford and her partner Carolyn of Atlanta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald Ray and Janice Lunsford of Mineral Bluff, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Edwards and his wife Nicole, Jacob Edwards, and Sarah Purdy; three great grandchildren; and nephews, Michael Ray Lunsford, Brace Pinney, and a niece Erin Pinney. Memorial services were held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
