Mr. Lakes Brendle, age 77, of Murphy, NC passed away February 12, 2017 in Sweetwater, TN. Born in Murphy, NC, he was the son of the late Pender and Mattie McDaniel Brendle. He retired as a Mining Foreman from the Tennessee Copper Company after 27 years of service. Lakes was also a member of IBW Local 175. Also preceding him in death was one son, Bryan Keith Brendle; and several siblings. His Survivors include two ex-spouses, Joyce Brendle of Farner, TN and Lisa Abercrombie of Madisonville, TN; sons, Jeffrey Lynn Brendle (Annette), Terry Anthony Brendle and Travis Leon Brendle all of Farner, TN; step-sons, Joshua David Brown of Turtletown, TN and Jason Lewis Brown of Murphy, NC; brothers, Bill Brendle of Murphy, NC, Charles Brendle of Farner, TN and Lynn Brendle of Liberty, NC; sister, Alama Mullins of Liberty, NC; grandchildren, Zee Brendle, Brandi Brendle and Samantha Stiles; great grandchildren, Bryan Stiles, Bill Stiles, Silas Stiles and Starlin Stiles.Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Josh Ledford and Rev. Ray Harper officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Reid. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 4 p.m. until the service hour of 7 p.m.. Interment will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Reids Chapel Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jeff Brendle, Terry Brendle, Travis Brendle, Jason Brown, Zeke Brendle and Jerry.
