Kristen Lynn Sisson, age 22, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on April 20, 2019 in the Emory University Hospital. She was born in Kennesaw, GA on April 3, 1997. She was a dedicated member of the Free Chapel Church in Gainesville, GA, and her faith was a cornerstone of her vibrant life. She was currently enrolled at Southeastern University at Free Chapel Church College where she would have graduated in May of 2019 with a degree in Graphic Design and Communications. Kristen was passionate about soccer; she played in high school as well as at Emmanuel College her freshman year. Later she shared her love of the sport and of mentorship through coaching U12 teams. Kristen was a talented artist, painter and was an avid photographer. She was the designer and creator of Piton T-Shirts, curated for Blue Ridge Mountain Outfitters, and operated her own business, Krisblu photography. Kristen adored driving her 1977 vintage convertible Volkswagen Beetle and spending time with her beloved Australian Shepherds, Hartley & Winnie.
Survivors include her parents, Jason and Tammy Grant Sisson; sisters, Madeline Grace Sisson and Olivia Nicole Sisson; one brother, Reese Sisson; maternal grandparents, Judy Moore and Billy Grant; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Charlotte Sisson; maternal great grandparent, Beedie Burnette; aunts and uncles, Carla and Charles Boutin, Sheila Welch, Anthony Sisson and JoJo and Heath Pack; cousins, Ruby and Molly Chandler, Jessie Queen and Clay Pack; and many other special relatives and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. from the Calvary Church Blue Ridge at 101 George Curtis Rd. Blue Ridge, GA with Pastor Blake Hamon officiating. Music was provided by Ruby Chandler and Kristen Peacock. Interment followed in the O'Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jordan Gray, Ryan Dockery, Markus Ponton, Luke Whitener, Alex Chastain and Wesley Whitener. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Rev. Scotty Mathis and Matthew Ponton. Donations may be made in her Kristen's memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Georgia Chapter) at fight.cff.org.
