Mrs. Kimberly Ellen Wood, age 51, of Morganton, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her home. She was born on August 21, 1969, in Cobb County. Kimberly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Brown and Pricilla Brown. Kimberly is survived by her husband, James Lamar "Jimmy" Wood; son, Justin Tyler Wood and his special friend, Megan Hill; sister, Betty Smith; step-sisters, Tracy Byers, Kim Caylor, Melissa Dillard; step-mother, Jean Caylor Brown; step-brother, Scott Caylor; mother-in-law, Anna Wood; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Chuck Thomas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Memorial services were conducted on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Chris Clark officiating. Music was provided by Vernon Owenby and Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow at a later date in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
