Kim Bailey, age 86 of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was born on June 26, 1932 in Fannin County to the late Gordon Bailey and Carrie Trammell Bailey. Kim served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1952-1956. During his service, Kim received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Medal. He was a long time member of Macedonia Church of Christ. Kim was an avid gardener, loved the outdoors, farming and telling tall tales to anyone he met. He was a barber. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, James Bailey and Michael Bailey and grandson, Chad Stiles. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Louise Miller Bailey; son, Donald K. Bailey (Karen); daughter, Kathy Vaughn (Ken); five granddaughters, Jennifer Childers (Stephen), Jenna Scearce (Chad), Leslie Bittenbinder, Shelby Bittenbinder and Taylor Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Austin Childers, Ally Childers and Kenley Jo Scearce . Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Minister Butch Jones and Minister Terry Stuart officiating.
