Mr. Kenneth Ray Stamey, age 60, of Morganton, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at his home. He was born in Cherokee County, NC on August 24, 1949 to the late Sherman Ray Stamey and Rosie Anthony Stamey. Mr. Stamey was employed by Deweese Small Engines and was a member of Star Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Lucille S. (Sutton) Stamey of the home; one son, Scott Stamey of Morganton, GA; two sisters, Frances Lee and Loretta Verner both of Blue Ridge; two grandchildren, Elisha White and Joshua Stamey; one great-grandchild, Isaac White and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service was conducted at Akins Chapel at 12:00 noon Friday, June 11, 2010 with Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of the arrangements. .
