Kenneth Jones, age 77, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born in the Higdon Community on July 20, 1946, to the late Mark Jones and Lela Foster Jones. Ken was a gentle, soft-spoken man who loved his family, friends, church, and the cats. He enjoyed woodworking and yard work.

Ken served his country in the United States Air Force. After leaving the Air Force, he began his career as a telephone technician with Blue Ridge Telephone, moving to Alltel, GTE, and retiring from Ellijay Telephone Company.

Ken attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where he loved to sing in the church choir. Ken's favorite song was "Near The Cross."

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Rev. Charlie Jones, Alvie Jones, Lola Patterson, Luther Jones, Ruth Guinn, and Ernest Jones.

Ken is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Jones; sons, Jason Jones of Canton and Cory Jones of Canton; siblings, Robert (Brenda) Jones of Blue Ridge and Jo Jones of Blue Ridge; and many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM from Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Congregational music will be led by Joel Collis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randall Watkins, Ed Hawkins, Joel Collis, Wayne Watkins, Rev. Paul Richards, and Freddie Vick. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
