Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Johnny better known as " Kitty Bo" Hensley, age 78, of Chanceytown, TN who passed away on Sunday December 13, 2009 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Born in Cherokee County, NC he was the son of the late Clyde Lafonzo and Ida Leona Simmons Hensley. He retired as a repairman for Cities Service. He was a member of the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Isabella TN. Mr. Hensley was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and hunter. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean Arp Hensley. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Kenneth Lynn "Buddy" and Debbie Hensley of Turtletown, TN and Joe and Phyllis Hensley of Ducktown, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Stoney Standridge of Ducktown, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Owen and Shirley Hensley of Turtletown, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Raymond Di Nitto of Ocala, FL; grandchildren and their spouses, Holly and Daniel Kaylor, Jill and Jamey Burnette, Tyler and Hannah Standridge, Kendal Standridge, and Daniel and Nichole Deal; and six great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday December 15, at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Patterson officiating. Music will be provided by the Caylor family. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Dwight Dilbeck, Ronnie Hensley, Scott Cheathem, Randall Hensley, Billy Hensley and Daniel Deal. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers: Terry Abernathy, Ted Sisson, Don Dilbeck, Doug Dilbeck, Danny Dilbeck, Gerald Hughes, Sr., Billy Joe Barnes, William Alley Bruce, Bobby Walker, Larry Walker, Melvin Hicks, Roger Brown, Nicky Brown, Don Kimsey, and Danny Joe Smith. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-9 p.m. For those desiring memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Diabetes Association or to the Alzheimer's Association Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
