Mr. Kenneth R. Brown, age 72, of McDonough passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He was born in Jackson County, GA where he graduated from Maysville High School. He was in the United States Army Reserves prior to being called to active duty in Berlin, Germany, during the Cold War Crisis. He married Louisia Elizabeth (Beth) Underwood (formerly of Blue Ridge, GA) September 1, 1962. He went on to graduate from Woodrow Wilson College of Law with a Master of Law degree on June 13, 1969. He began his private law practice in November 1971. His work was his ministry, he loved helping others and had a heart for the Asian community. He is survived by wife Louisia Elizabeth (Beth) Underwood, Son; Kevin R. Brown of Flagler Beach, Fl, daughter and son-in-law Kenda and David L. Meeks of Marietta, GA, Grandchildren; Matthew Meeks, Alyssa Meeks, Kristen Meeks and Abigail Gibbons, sister; Eloise Slaton of Austell, sister and brother-in-law; Sue and Don Truluck of Watkinsville, sister-in-law; Sandra Brown of Carrollton, along with numerous other family members and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 8, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Worship Center, with Rev. Irvin Pearre and Rev. Hinton Harris officiating, the body will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. The family will meet at the graveside at Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens in Blue Ridge, at 4:00 PM for interment. The family will receive friends Friday, August 7 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
