Obituary

Mrs. Kay Frances (Christopher) German, age 65, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Fannin County, daughter of the late Clifton T. and Ethelene Tilson Christopher and wife of the late Larry German. Mrs. German was a retired school teacher with the Fannin County School System and was a member of Higher Ground Praise and Worship Center. She had served as choir director of the McCaysville Church of God for 22 years. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Misti and Rev. Harold Crowder of Blue Ridge, Beth and Mark Strickland of Hiram, GA, Kim and Gary Patterson of Blue Ridge; one son and his wife, Michael S. and Melissa German of Blue Ridge; one sister and her husband Janet and David Blackwell of Madisonville, TN; brother, Teddy Christopher of Newnan, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nadine and Earl Satterfield of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Crowder, Kristi Mobley, Candace German, Sydney German and Gayge Guy; and great grandchild, Kaisen T. Crowder.Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Harold Crowder, Rev. Tony Stallings and Rev. Mark Strickland officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Satterfield, Chad Satterfield, Scott Satterfield, Doug Newman, Tina Newman, and Jonathan Crowder. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Satterfield, Dewayne Housley, Max Housley, Ricky Kyle, Larry Adams, David Blackwell, and Corey Mobley. Music was by Beth Strickland, Kristi Thomas, and Sherry Stallings. Interment followed in Kingtown Church Cemetery. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
