Kathy Wright Jones, age 69, of Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her home. She was born on May 11, 1950 to the late Fred Ephraim Wright and Mary Ellen Carpenter Wright. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Kathy retired from Gilmer County Board of Education where she worked as a Teacher's Assistant and Bus Driver. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Millholland. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bobby Jones; daughter, Melissa Sutherland; grandsons, Dusty Millholland, Benjamin Sutherland, Adam Sutherland, and Luke Sutherland; sister, Mary Ruth Wilson; and brother, Freddy Earl Wright. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, March 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Music was provided by Teresa Ross and Margaret Crawford. Interment followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Dusty Millholland, Benjamin Sutherland, Adam Sutherland, Luke Sutherland, Jimmy Jones, and Mike Jones serving as pallbearers.
