Mr. Junior Max Huffman, age 75, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Brian's Center in Canton, GA. Mr. Huffman was born in Fannin County, GA, on January 12, 1934 to the late Jack Hill and Mary Ann Thomas Huffman. He was a self employed concrete finisher. Mr. Huffman served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #67 F & AM. Mr. Huffman was a member of the Young's Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Stewart.Survivors include his two sons, Keith Huffman of Blue Ridge, GA and Jimmy Underwood of Blue Ridge, GA; two daughters, Patricia Hamby of Blairsville, GA and Pam Huffman of Murphy, NC; three sisters, Ruby Lewis of Blue Ridge, GA, Ruth Callihan of Blue Ridge, GA and Margaret Ann Cheatham of Mineral Bluff, GA; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the O'Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pope and Rev. Terry Thrasher officiating. Music was by Patsy Beavers, Rev. Michael Pope, and James McGill. Pallbearers were Jimmy Underwood, Jeremy Underwood, Joshua Underwood, Justin Foster, Joseph Foster and Steve Huffman. Honorary Pallbearers were Johnny Ritchie and Elbie Cole. Interment followed in the O'Zion Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites by the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #67 F&AM. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
