IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June Lederer
Wright
December 7, 1933 – May 15, 2023
June Marie Lederer Wright, 89 years of age, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 15, 2023, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.
June was born in Washington, DC on December 7th, 1933 - a day of joy for her parents, Charles and Regina Lederer, years before the date became a day of infamy for the United States. June was the oldest of four children.
June married the late Jack Neal after graduating from high school. They had a son Jack Neal, Jr in 1952. June later would begin to attend college as a single mother. June began to pray and study her Bible. God's answer to June's prayers for knowledge and understanding would lead her to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. June was baptized into the Adventist church in 1954 and began working for the Adventist Review and Herald publishing house, in Tacoma Park, MD. June attended Washington Missionary College in the late 1950's. There June would meet the love of her life, a newly minted Adventist pastor, Marshall Wright. After a successful courtship June and Marshall would wed on February 11th, 1960.
Marshall began his pastoral ministry in the Ohio conference, and June completed her BS in Elementary Education from Ohio University graduating Summa Cum Laude. In September 1962, their first son Wayne was born. Two years later in January of 1965, their second son Kenneth was born. Marshall received a call to the Potomac conference in 1966. June and Marshall moved the family to Kilmarnock, VA. In Kilmarnock June would become a beloved elementary school teacher. June and Marshall's only daughter, Lori, was born in October 1969. June then became a full-time homemaker until Lori began school.
In the summer of 1974 June and Marshall moved the family to Gibsonia, PA. There Marshall would begin work for the Christian Record Braille foundation for twenty years. June changed careers all while raising three young children and obtaining a CPA license, allowing her to begin a successful career as a tax accountant. This change allowed June to prepare taxes for clients, friends and family. June attended many Adventist churches and served as the church treasurer.
June and Marshall would move to Murphy, NC in 2002. There June and Marshall would build their dream home and resided there for nineteen years. June and Marshall were both active members of the Fannin County SDA church where they would build great friendships made for eternity.
June was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Myron Wright, father C Henry Lederer I, mother Regina C Brode, brother-in-law Sonny Snyder and great grandchild Max Marshall Wright.
June is survived by her brother, C Henry and (Helen) Lederer II, sisters Elsie Snyder and Lillian and (Larry) Linville, children Jack Stephen and (Naliza) Neal, Wayne Andrew Wright and (Laura), Kenneth Leroy and (Ruth) Wright and Lori Ann and (Jeff) Patterson. June is also survived by twelve grandchildren - Matthew and (Lauren) Wright, Andrew Wright, Rebecca Wright, Scot and (Danae) Brunner, George and (Lilly) Brunner, Sara Brunner, Jason Brunner, Obadiah Wright, Abigail and (Ryan) Johnson, Chloe Neal, Crystal Neal, Christopher Jack Neal and one great grandchild, Sophia Wright.
A Memorial Service was conducted on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor Craig Fish and Mr. Jeff Patterson officiating.
