June Anne McCarter, age 84, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023. June was born on June 20, 1938 in Copperhill to the late Ailen and Geneva McCarter. She worked for twenty years in the Polk County School System as a custodian and bus driver. In the years that followed, June worked as a florist, and later, she would share a custodial business cleaning commerical buildings with her lifelong friend, Blanche. Throughout her life, she enjoyed softball and bowling. June is preceded in death by her parents, and lifelong friend, Blanche Ledford.

She is survived by aunt, Cathryn P. McCarter, and many cousins, other relatives, and special friends.

Graveside services will be conducted on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from Crestlawn Cemetery with Rev. Joey Buchanan officiating. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved to Kingtown Baptist Church.
