Obituary

Ms. June Amyrillis Dockery Crowder, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Dalton, GA surrounded by her loving family, after losing her battle with lung cancer. Born in Polk County, TN on June 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ms. Rosa Bell Dockery Verner and Mr. Sylvester Weaver. Ms. Crowder was a member of Bear Paw Baptist Church. They lived many, many years traveling, singing and bringing their worship and praise of God along with Billy and Willa Dean Wilcox as "The Gospel Tone Makers" where they touched souls along the south east. They lived in Copperhill, TN for fifty-three years. Ms. Crowder worked for three to five years as a member of the Copper Basin Medical Center Auxlliary Volunteers where she loved co-workers, families and also meeting new friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-one years, Alphus Noah Crowder; three brothers, J.W., Fred and James Earl Verner; two sisters, Christine Fughett and Darlen Arp. Surviving her in life are two children, son, Kenneth Robert Crowder of Dalton, GA; daughter, Sharon Crowder Blalock (David) of Dalton, GA; two grandchildren, Brandon Hedrick of Dalton, GA and Cale Crowder of KY; one sister, Mrs. Brandy Tuck (Ed) of Marietta, GA; four great grandchildren; many other family and friends survive.Ms. Crowder's Home Going was conducted on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Steve Ware and Rev. Allan Harris officiating. Music was by Rev. Allan Harris, Tommy and Stacy Taylor and Family. Pallbearers were Brandon Hedrick, Cale Crowder, David Blalock, Noah Hedrick, Rev. Scott Graves, Tim Verner, Vincent Stewart and Bud Allen. Honorary Pallbearers were the Copper Medical Center Auxlliary Volunteers. Interment followed at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
