Julia Esther Ledford, age 98, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Blue Ridge, GA. Born on January 11, 1920 in Hiawassee, GA, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mary Jane Sims Howell. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She worked as a Packer for Quickie Manufacturing. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Woodrow Howell and Charles Howell; and sister, Versia Newberry.She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Ray L. and Anna Ledford of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, James Ray Ledford and Emory Gene Ledford; great-grandchildren, McKenzi Ledford, Caleb Ledford, Jessica Ledford, Katy Ledford, Sydney Ledford, Tara Ledford, Emric Ledford, Issadora Ledford, and Ivan Ledford; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 26, 2018, at 1:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel. Rev. Bradley Elliott, Rev. James Howard Galloway, and Dr. Roger Beck will officiate. Music was provided by Greg Norton. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. Billy Free, Ronnie Moss, Ketron Moss, Kevin Moss, Bobby Ledford, Phillip Newberry, Michael Gray, and Jason Queen will serve as pallbearers.
