Judy Denise Wimpey Elrod, age 74, of Cleveland, TN entered into the loving presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Bradley Medical Center. She was born on July 24, 1950 in Copperhill, TN to the late Guinn Edward Wimpey and Willa Jean Griffith. Judy was of Christian faith. She worked in the medical billing field most of her life where she made life long friends. Judy was the life of the party to all who knew her. She loved to dance, and was a feisty, loving, strong spirited woman. Most of all, Judy loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren Cali, Salem, and Malachi. She was greatly loved, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Wimpey and Willa Jean Griffith; brother, Eddie Wimpey; sisters, Deon Wimpey and Alice Propheter; and special cousin, Donna Thompson.

Judy is survived by her son, Richard Elrod; daughter, Julie (Amanda) Gillespie; grandchildren, Lacey (Lauren) Sanchez, Logan Harris, and Alexis Fields; great-grandchildren, Cali Archie, Salem Harris, and Malachi Harris; sisters, Janice Lunsford and Cyndi Brimacombe; and other distant family who loved her.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb of Copperhill Chapel with Pastor Byron Ahrens officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will recieve friends at Akins-Cobb of Copperhill on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
