Judith Lynn Shell McKinney, lovingly known as "Judy," 79, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away at her home on July 12, 2026.
Judy was born on February 27, 1947, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, to the late Edward Thomas Shell and Viola Hughes Shell. She attended Blue Ridge Elementary School and graduated from West Fannin High School.
After marrying her beloved husband, Forrest McKinney Jr. "Mac", the couple moved to Atlanta, where Judy began her career with Atlanta Motor Lines Terminal Transport.
Eventually, Judy and Mac returned to their hometown, where she enjoyed a long career in banking. She began her work at Fannin County Bank, remaining with the institution through its transitions to Peoples Bank and later United Community Bank. Judy was a beloved wife, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed "Doc" and Viola Shell.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest McKinney Jr. "Mac"; sister, Pastor Gail Hardy (Bob); nieces, Becky Hart and Beth Milhollan (Dr. James); and great nieces and nephews, Matthew, Victoria, Lily, Thomas, Samuel, and Robert.
Judy was laid to rest privately at Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
