Juanita Opel Brown, age 79, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born on December 3, 1945, in Farner, to the late John Clyde Duggan and Stella Mae Taylor Duggan. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. Juanita worked for many years as a creeler for Shaw Industries. She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Albert "Bill" Brown; siblings, Joyce Vest, Anita Raper, J.C. Duggan, Jimmy Duggan, Gary Duggan, Betty Culler, Rachel Ledford, and Doris Duggan; and grandson, Christopher Hubbard.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Marvin Grooms, Yvonne and Bjorn Villaester, and Felicia and Andrew Marshall; grandchildren, Ragan Price, Xander Villaester, Aaron Brown, Crystal Grooms, Kristin Spurlock, Madison Cain, and Mallorie Marshall; several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 3:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Keith Raper and Rev. Raymond Akens officiating. Interment followed in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Aaron Brown, Xander Villaester, Oscar Price, Lonnie Grooms, Brad Spurlock, and Jonathan Wilson. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
