Joyce Thomas Speakes, age 82, of Rex, GA passed away Monday, September 27, 2021. Mrs. Speakes was born in Canton, GA on October 13, 1938 to the late Willis Ruben Thomas and Edna Botts Thomas. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Sue Kent and David Thomas. She is survived by her children, Dinean (Ken) Stevens of Buckhead, GA and Demetrius (Bobby) Collier of Jackson, GA; sibilings, Haskell (Peggy) Thomas, Willie (Martha) Thomas, Jr., Dianne Thomas, and Darlene (Terry) Ledford; grandchildren, Shane (Sherry) Stevens, Kristy (Kevin) Ward, Dustin (Kourtni) Gandee, Amber (Josh) Oberst, Brooke (Vince) Green, Austin (Kyle) Collier, and Cheyenne (Ricardo) Cuesta; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Woodham, Summer Stevens, Christian Ward, Kole Ward, Sierra Ward, Scarlett Gandee, Bentley Oberst, Madelynn Oberst, Nolan Oberst, Declan Green, Oakleigh Green, Paislee Collier, Beau Collier, and Lila Cuesta. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 4:00 PM from the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Ken Stevens will provide a eulogy and the following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dustin Gandee, Austin Collier, Vince Green, Ricardo Cuesta, Josh Oberst, Bobby Collier, and Ken Stevens.
