Mrs. Joyce McLaughlin Smith, age 79, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was born on February 22, 1943, in Leesburg, FL, to the late Sidney McLaughlin and Lucy Davis Lovell. She was a member of White City United Methodist Church in Fort Pierce, FL, and later attended Epworth United Methodist Church. Joyce worked for many years as a Cosmetologist and later in Wholesale Beauty Supplies. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, David W. Smith; and siblings, Sidney Frank McLaughlin, Earl McLaughlin, Sydney Clovice de Maintenon, and Annie Peavey.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter Bassel Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James "Russ" Hill; and brother, Kenneth McLaughlin.
