Josephine Jones, age 87, of Blue Ridge passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Josephine was born on August 5, 1936 in Higdon, GA to the late Mark H. Jones and Lela Avaline Foster Jones. She was a member of Welcome Hill #2 Baptist Church. Josephine enjoyed visiting with friends and family, crocheting, and listening to music at Pickin' in the Park.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Rev. Charlie Jones, Alvie Jones, Lola Patterson, Luther Jones, Ruth Guinn, Kenneth Jones, and Ernest Jones.

Josephine is survived by her children, Samuel L. Panter and Michael (Tammy) Jones; grandchildren, Misti Jones (Tim) Taylor, Jeremy E. Jones, and Kaitlyn Jones; great-grandchildren, Miley Taylor, Abi Taylor, Waylon Taylor, and Erza Jones; brother, Robert (Brenda) Jones; and sister-in-law, Brenda Jones.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel at Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge with Minister Mark Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Jones Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brian Jones, David Patterson, Mark Thomas, Cody Thomas, Robert Jones, and Freddy Vick. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
