Mr. Johnny Richard Millsaps, age 75, of the Cashes Valley Community in Cherry Log, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Johnny was born on July 20, 1949, in Cherry Log, Georgia, to the late Hamil Samuel Millsaps and Minnie Lee Patterson Millsaps. Devoted in the Baptist Faith, he was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church, where he found great joy in worship and fellowship.

He worked for many years as a sewing machine mechanic for Levi Strauss & Co. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman, with a deep love for hunting and fishing, and always enjoyed his time in the woods or by the water, especially when sharing those moments with family. A true family man, he was extremely proud of his grandchildren. Above all, Johnny loved serving the Lord.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; son, David Michael Millsaps; sister, Mary Ann Collis (Rev. Glen Collis); and brothers, Hamil Millsaps, Jr. (Katherine) and Jimmy Millsaps.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Millsaps of the home; children, Marlene Hicks (Malcolm) of Ellijay, GA, Jon (Jody) Millsaps of Blue Ridge, GA, Willie Waldman, Justin Waldman (Hannah), and Amanda Hale (Josh); grandchildren, David Hicks (Emily), Daniel Hicks (Jordan), Dylan Hicks (Catie), Julia Kratz (Judah), Amber Price (Eddie), Josie Bowers (Ryan), Matthew Holtslander, Bailee Holtslander, Scott Trask, Jathan Waldman, and Kylie Thurman; great-grandchildren, Jackson Hicks, Ama Hicks, Wilder Hicks, Hazel Hicks, Sawyer Hicks, Arianna Hicks, Ann-Eliese Hicks, Liam Hicks, Graydon Hicks, Everly Hicks, Samuel Hicks, Jayden Price, Zoey Price, Kimberly Price, Lincoln Bowers, Ace Bowers, and Kyler McCue; siblings, Ruby Barker (Hubert), Jerry Millsaps (Earlene), and Jesse Millsaps (Brenda); sister-in-law, Ann Millsaps; mother-in-law, Shirley Phillips; many extended relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jon Millsaps and Rev. Terry Sosebee officiating. Music was provided by Bailee Holtslander, Jody Millsaps, Amber Price, and Brenda Millsaps. Interment followed in the New Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: David Hicks, Daniel Hicks, Dylan Hicks, Matthew Holtslander, Scott Trask, and Jathan Waldman. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, June 15, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
