Johnny Glenn Harris, age 79, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at his home. He was born in Mineral Bluff, on April 8, 1947, to the late John Harris and Flonnie Denton Harris. Johnny worked for many years for the Tennessee Copper Company where he worked as an engineer. Later, he worked in maintenance for Mohawk. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. During his time at the Copper Company, he spent time working in all mines and loved driving the train.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Jimmy Harris, Samuel "Bud" Harris, Sue Baugh, Tootsie Helton; and special friends, Bobby Pittman and William Patton.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Harris; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Dale Jackson, and Teresa and Vaughn Stillwell; grandchildren, Brittany (Eric) Nations, Kailey Campbell, Kinsley Stillwell, Isaac Jackson, Corey (Lila) Stillwell; great-grandchildren, Noley Nations and Kason Nations; sister, Carol Alexander; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Scott Baugh, Rev. Eric Nations, and Rev. Dale Jackson officiating. Music will be provided by the Tim Nicholson Family and Noley Nations. A private interment will be held in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Copperhill. Pallbearers will be Kason Nations, Caleb Baugh, Nathan Baugh, Andy Baugh, Corey Stillwell, Merrill Jackson, Chris Heaton, and Nathan Pless. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Pittman, Tommy Henson, Junior Byers, Tommy Nations, Clyde Martin, Daven Dilbeck, Adam "Bo" Bell, Anthony Ritchie, and Johnny's nephews. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
