LOVING MOTHER, PRAYER WARRIOR, CARGIVERMrs. Johnnie Margaret Russell, age 92, of Epworth passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at her home. Born in Fannin County, GA on April 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late John Owenby and Mary Willis Owenby. She worked in the McCaysville School Cafeteria, and was a member of Hipps Chapel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Russell; son James Harold "Jabo" Russell; and twin infant daughters, Sandra and Cynthia Russell. She was survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Rosa Russell of Epworth and Danny and Tammy Lynn Russell of Epworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Tommy Ash of Epworth, Carolynn Dillard of Orlando, FL and Margaret and Don Harper of Canton; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Russell of Jackson, Mississippi; a sister, Grace Ray of Marietta, GA; 25 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Mike Byess officiating. Music was provided by The Beach Family. Pallbearers were Tommy Ash, Don Harper, Jerry Allen, Frank Wright, Tony Harper, and Tim Glazner. Honorary pallbearers were Kennon Fowler and John Dyer. Interment was in the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery followed by a white dove release. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
