Mrs. Johnnie Ann Postell, age 82, of Blue Ridge passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Laurel Glen Assisted Living in Carrollton. Mrs. Postell was born December 18, 1939 in Morganton, GA to the late John Mosley and the late Stella Crawford Mosley. She served in various roles in education before retirement. Most notable was her time working at West Fannin Junior High School. She is remembered for being a fiercely independent woman that a very fervent love for her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William H. "Bill" Postell; her grandson, Samuel Oliver Postell; and sisters, Betty Weaver and Doralese Tipton. Mrs. Postells surviving family includes her son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Lynn Postell; grandchildren, Trey (Katie Rose) Postell and Wesley (Gabriella Gearinger) Postell; and great grandchildren, Claire Postell and Deacon Postell. Mrs. Postells life will be remembered and celebrated at a graveside service on Monday, July 18, 2022 beginning at 2:00 PM at Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery with Rev. Trey Postell officiating. Friends may visit the family on Monday at the funeral home from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. George Watkins, Jimmy Davenport, Tadd Postell, Daniel Shuler, Johnny Weaver, and Wesley Postell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Postell and David Postell. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in memory of Johnnie Postell to the Community Fund of West Georgia - Sam Postell Scholarship Fund at 807 South Park Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
