John Aaron Holsonback, age 17, of Epworth, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024. He was born on July 24, 2006, in Blue Ridge, GA. John was saved on June 20, 2018 and baptized on June 24, 2018. He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church, where he also served as Treasurer. John was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was a Junior at Fannin County High School and a member of the Fannin County Rebels Football Team.

John is preceded in death by his grandfather, Rev. James "Big Jim" Holsonback; grandmother, Lisa McClure; and uncle, Gary Weaver.

John is survived by his parents, Mark and Melissa Holsonback; siblings, Hannah Holsonback, Elisabeth Holsonback, Sarah Holsonback, Luke Holsonback, and Benjamin Holsonback; paternal grandmother, Betty Payne Holsonback; maternal grandfather, Thomas F. McClure III; paternal great-grandmother, Betty R. Holsonback; aunts and uncles, Amanda Weaver, Tara and Shaun Simmons, Samara McClure, and Thomas Jason and Abby McClure; cousins, Stephen Weaver, Halli Palmer, Della Simmons, Shaun Simmons, and Michael Simmons; and a host of other extended family and friends.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Jason Phillips officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Luke Holsonback, Benjamin Holsonback, Stephen Weaver, Shaun Simmons, Waylon O'Neal, Rilee Flowers, and Landon Siniard.
