The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. John Stephen Elliott, age 77, of Canton, GA passed away Monday, October 22, 2007 in the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. Born in Texarkana, Texas, he was the son of the late Jessie Cargile Elliott and Ima Flower Young Elliott. He retired from Lockheed as a system programmer. He is survived by his wife Milbern Jean Allen Elliott of the home; sons, Carl Elliott of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Steve Elliott of Kennesaw, GA; daughters, Carol Beckerich of Austin, TX, Sharon Wyatt of Tomball, TX, and Donna Golder of Ball Ground, GA; sister, Ruth Reichert of Arlington, TX; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Dane Gentry officiating. Pallbearers will be Carol Elliott, Steve Elliott, Steven Beckerich, Randy Golder, Wesley Payne, and Jeffrey Payne. Interment will follow in Patterson Cemetery.
