John Barry Reel, age 71, of Morganton, GA passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at his home. Mr. Reel was born on December 25, 1951 in Cookeville, TN to the late John William Reel and Mildred Inez Nivens Reel. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Goldkist/Pilgrim's Pride. Mr. Reel was a United States Navy veteran and was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Norton Reel, and a brother, Ronnie Reel.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Christa King of Morganton; brother, Rick Reel of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Thaddeus King, Lyla Webb, and Evie Webb; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, October 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. from the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Military honors will be provided by North Georgia Honor Guard. The following gentlemen will be serving as pallbearers: Terry Flowers, Weyland Collins, Jonathan Jordan, Harrison Smith, Jim Smith, and John Reel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 2:00 p.m. until leaving in procession for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Fannin Childrens Fund at 360 Rebel Circle Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
