Joe Jenkins Hewell, Jr., 76, of Blue Ridge, formerly, of Atlanta, passed away April 27, 2016. Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Joe Jenkins Hewell, Sr. and Ruth Malone Hewell. Mr. Hewell was the owner and operator of J J Hewell and Son distributing oil for AMOCO. He was a long time member of the Peachtree Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty years, Ruth M. Hewell of the home; children, Joe J. Hewell III, of Braselton, GA; William Charles Hewell of Blue Ridge, GA; Darue Moon of Killen, AL and Dana McCarthy of Leesburg, GA; grandchildren, Jason Bradley Hewell, Eric Austin Hewell, Jarod Logan Hewell, Bennett McCarthy and Baylee McCarthy; great grandchild, Madison Hewell.Graveside services were conducted Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs, GA with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating.
