Jo Callihan Nichols, age 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at her home. She was born on February 9, 1946 in Blue Ridge, Georgia to the late H. Grady Callihan and Nancy Victoria Davis Callihan. She was of the Baptist faith, and a devoted member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was a former member of Beulah Chapter and a current member of Morganton Chapter Order of Eastern Star. She worked in the floral industry for 29 years, owning and operating "Silks for Less". On July 18, 1964, she married her dear husband, Gary. She loved to cook for her family and friends, and you could often find her listening to her beloved gospel music. She will be remembered for having a servant's heart for always helping others, and always being herself.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Willowbrook Hospice, her caregivers, and special friends, Peggy Edwards and Margie Barber.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 53 years, Gary Nichols; and brother, William "Bill" Callihan.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Nicole Nichols of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Mary Kate Rogers of Blue Ridge, GA; niece and nephew, Tina Rogers and Grady Rogers; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. John Newton and Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Music was provided by Nancy Collis Watkins and Joel Collis. Interment followed in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Darvin Couch, Jon Pack, Wayne Watkins, Jeremiah Bolling, Dwayne Cobb, and Jeremy Collis. The family visited with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, August 15, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
