Mr. Jimmy Ray Hughes, age 81, of Bethpage, TN, formerly of Turtletown, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Ray was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late William and Delpha Marr Hughes. He was retired as a heavy equipment operator in construction.He was also preceded in death by siblings, Louise Cole, Hazel Chancey, David, Donald, Edward and Herman Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Jewell "Judy" Hughes of the home; children, Rhena (Danny) Helton of Turtletown, TN, Robin Lilley of Whitesburg, GA, Ricky (Gabrielle) Hughes of Whitesburg, GA, Barry (Pam) Beasley of Westmoreland, TN, Ronda (Bobby) Bell of Westmoreland, TN; fifteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Mary Jane (Kenneth) Montgomery of Ducktown, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 31st at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Donald Weaver officiating. Music will be by Matthew Helton. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
