Jimmy Steve Hughes, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on April 11, 2025 in Canton, GA. He was born in Fannin County on November 30, 1942 to the late Frank H. Davis and Trilvia Hughes Rose. Jimmy retired as a Land Development officer for the Fannin County Board Board of Commissioners. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting sports especially sporting clays. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Johnny Steve Hughes; three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Vicky Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and John Shirey; grandchildren, Logan Shirey, Darci Shuler, Mack Shirey, Jada Shuler and Knox Shirey; sisters and one brother-in-law, Brenda Jones and Barbara and Bob Hogan; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were conducted on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. from the John Floyd Anderson Cemetery in Blue Ridge, GA with Rev. Darvin Couch officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Eric Sowers, Nathan Sowers, Grayson Sowers, Jeff Anderson, Troy Davis, and Mike Ware. The family visited with friends at the funeral home Wednesday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
