Mr. Jimmy Grindstaff, Sr., age 82, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at his home. Born on May 23, 1936 in McCaysville, GA, was the son of the late Avery and Carrie Stanley Grindstaff. He retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company where he worked as a Repairman. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Clark Grindstaff; son, Jimmy Don Grindstaff, Jr.; and siblings, Truman Grindstaff, Jack Grindstaff, Edward Grindstaff, Billy Grindstaff, Hoyt Grindstaff, Evelyn Martin, Hildred Dalton, and Lola Patterson. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diane Grindstaff of the home; son, Michael (Lisa) Grindstaff of Blue Ridge; stepchildren, Ty (Cindy) Ingram of Cleveland and Kathy (David) Eaves of Cleveland; grandchildren, Elijah (Tammy) Grindstaff, Cohutta Grindstaff, and Hope (Michael) Mann; step-grandchildren, Brittany Eaves, Seb Ingram, Sammy Ingram and Annie Ingram; great-grandchild, Peyton Grindstaff; step-great-grandchild, Raylee Evans; brother, Tommy (Patricia) Grindstaff; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was conducted on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 4:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wesley Davenport officiating.
