Mr. Jimmy Roy Gibson, age 62, of Cleveland, TN passed away on Wednesday December 26, 2007 in the Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland, TN, following an extended illness. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late Roy David and Mary Addis Thrasher Gibson. He was a retired Machinist working for Salem Carpets. Mr. Gibson was a member of the Ocoee Missionary Baptist Church and a Past Master of Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #67 F&AM. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Arp Gibson of the home; one son, James Gregory Gibson of Chatsworth, GA; one daughter, Melody G. Parris of Cleveland, TN; one brother, Larry Gibson of Blue Ridge, GA; two sisters, Patsy Mull of Blue Ridge, GA and Judy Condra of Dallas, GA; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday December 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sugar Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Harold Weeks and Rev. Sonny Moats officiating. Music was provided by the Sugar Creek Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: J.T. Arp, Jason Plenzer, Chris Plenzer, Justin Parris, Don Hood, and Terry Thrasher. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
